The Great Painless Punk Rock Purge of the Moonpeople

One day, people on Earth decided to go live on the moon, cause it seemed like the right thing to do. So they did, and they lived happily ever after until they realized that there were no trees on the moon. They needed to make guitars out of the trees. So they decided to send space shuttles back and forth from Earth and the moon. But after a while that got annoying too, cause either the ships would run out of fuel or burn up during reentry. So the moonpeople decided to create a bridge. So they did. But then they got tired of walking that far, so they made the bridge into a escalator bridge.

And they lived happily ever after. Until MTV came to the moon. They brought all the music that was ever recorded to the moon, including punk rock music. Punk rock music divided the moon in half: one side was good punk rock, the other side was bad punk rock. The bad punk rockers got drunk and were high all the time and they bought cheap guitars like Epiphones all the time, while the good punk rockers knew how to work the crowd and surf the crowd and have a moshpit with minimal injuries.

One day the tension of good and bad punk rock clashed. It was brother against brother, guitars were being smashed over peoples heads everywhere, speakers were being blown out all over the place. It was complete punk rock chaos. But eventually the giant battery in the moon that gave the moonpeople electricity ran out of power. So they postponed the war so they could recharge the moon. But even before it got recharged, the bad punk rockers imploded on themselves, and were going to destroy life on the moon. But somehow they got it into their heads that Jupiter was a way better place to have punk rock concerts at, so all the bad punk rockers moved to Jupiter, thus creating the great painless punk rock purge of the moon. They were never heard from again, because they got too close to Jupiter and burned up and died. It was their destiny anyway. Bad punk rock can never last.

After the great painless punk rock purge, the moonpeople banished MTV back to the earth from whence it came from, and peace and tranquility ensured.

The End

In My Desperation

Give me strength
All these impulses and feelings and temptations are threatening to overwhelm everything I know and feel

Give me a clear head
I took my own thoughts and followed them, not considering I'm weak and faulty all the time

Return to me my wisdom
My dreams of bliss were lived for this time, and though I found satisfaction in them, I find the need to move on

Tell me the answers I need
I've felt the breeze whisper to me, and I've been deprived of Your voice for too long because of my selfishness

Rescue me
I can feel my life rotting away, I need Your forgiveness and love to bring me back to life

I am in distress. I am in despair. For so long I locked myself in my own cage and fed off my own selfishnes. And now I come to You, wounded with my head sunk low, trying to hide my sadness, trying to cover my shame that's on my face with my own hands.

Cover me. Revive me. Show me the way to my refuge. And bless me like you've never blessed me before so I can find no end to the thanks I give to you.

My Shadow

It's interesting what happens when you least expect it. The dark hood of night dulls your senses and keeps the suprises well hidden.

A million things could attack you, and you could be mildly disturbed while you do your best to cope, and you get out alright. Life moves on, and you forget it even happens, no matter how important it was. You treat it as the past, and rightfully so, never letting the past follow you and hold you down.

The past can rarely ever come back at you. Only if you let it. That's the key. And when it does, sometimes it shakes your very foundation and lets you know just how solid the ground beneath you is. It's quite scary. It gives you an adrenaline rush. It puts you in shock. It throws you for a loop. It makes you inadvertently question everything you know and force you to make a desicion right then and there.

Not only does it make you question, it brings parts of your life out of the dark and into your vision. Things that you've learned from and put away, hoping they'd never come back to visit again. Things that shaped your core, and you hope you'd never have to encounter again. Those things are scary, and should be avoided whenever you can.

But when you are forced to face them again, whether or not they're planned or pops up in your face without warning, it's always strange. It's a deja vu feeling, but not the one you want. It's the feeling that you get when you know something's gonna happen and you don't want to be there. But life doesn't listen to you and kicks you back so you can face your fears. And even after you've faced it and walked away, it's not over.

If we were perfect, then we wouldn't struggle with old emotions. We are all imperfect, all confused inside, all oxymorons in some way. But we hide it with illusions that we're not. We hide it with calm and maturity and words that puts confidence in other people. This is not bad, but it should not blind either.

Something came to me last night and came out of my shadow and rocked the very foundation that I was standing on. Something that I thought I had learned from and put away came back and showed me I was wrong. Something that was beautiful showed me that I was ugly inside.

It shocked me. But it showed me more than anything that I'm human, and that I need to give up so I can learn how to live. I don't yet. I'm just starting.
