Well, it's been a year, 2010...

There's no way I'm going to be able to put down everything I want to write about the last 365 days, but I'm sure gonna try.

A year ago, I was married to a pretty little lady who is also my best friend, Jessica. Got married in Boise ID at the church she grew up in, got back home, planned to have our honeymoon later so we could enjoy it. A week after we got married, we began our many, many, many visits to hospitals. I am not exaggerating when I say I think Jessica's been in the hospital 40 times, this year alone, if not more. She has gone through pain after pain, and for some reason God hasn't seen fit to take it away, but we think we see the end of it on the horizon. My lovely wife has not only endured through this pain and hardship, she has shown and proven to me that she is a strong woman and will always be my wife, through the good times and the bad times, truly loving me. And I have loved her all the more for it :)

Through all of these hard times, we found out in May that we're going to be parents. Quite honestly I  was happy, and I didn't even know why I should be scared yet...I was so naive. Quite honestly, I don't remember that last time that I held an infant ever. I've always wanted to be a dad though, but I had (and have) no idea where to start. Basically my initial thoughts were, "Well I'm gonna have to get him a drumset and his baseball mitt so I can start training him from the get go"...oh yeah, he can't even hold himself up, just sleep and fart and other baby things...Don't worry guys I'm a lot smarter now! Still hasn't hit me that I'm going to be a dad, it feels like high school graduation; you keep preparing for something that you know what it looks like but don't know at all how it works.

Musicwise, there's been a lot of under-the-hood changes and exploration. I was leading the worship team at First Southern Baptist church, and at the start of last year we had gotten a full band together finally, which was uber awesome, drumset and all. Being the music leader, I also got time to play with the drumset too, which ended up revolutionizing everything about how I think and write music (which was based solely on my voice and acoustic guitar before). I soon found out that all this music could not be contained in my usual Redhead project, so I created a new Alt Metal project called Reason For Contrast, which currently has a CD unfinished in the recording studio (all that's left is vocals, but haven't had time for that as of yet). It'll be coming out when it comes out...going back to church stuff, I was ordained a Worship Pastor in September of this year, which is quite nice to have :). Makes me feel all official.

Since I found out I was going to be a dad, both me and Jessica wanted Jessica to be a stay-at-home mom, which meant that I sadly had to get a real job. I looked for five months in the state of California, and then looked for two weeks in Boise. Jessica posted a resume on careerbuilder.com, and 48 hours later I get a call from someone at NMCI offering me a job. No interview, asked me if I could start work on September 10th, which was less than two weeks away. I originally thought it couldn't be true...but it really was. Basically I do tech support for the Navy, and what's even better is that NMCI (which is a contract from the govt) is owned by HP, where Jessica's dad works, so we're keeping it all in the family :). It was hard leaving Roseville, but I have no regrets living in Boise at all, just miss the people back home.

So basically in the last 365 days, I've gotten married to a pretty awesome wife, become a pastor, been preparing to be a dad, completely overhauled the entire way I've looked at/created music, gotten a real job, moved to an entirely different state, GREW UP.....there have been two constants: God and video games. God never changes, and video games are always awesome. Here's hoping 2011 is as awesome as last year, with a little less crazy psycho chaos in there (don't have much hope that wish will come true, my life hasn't stopped spinning since 2008)

Understanding the source

Being that in the year 2010 I've gone through so many fundamentally life altering points of life, I'm beginning to become aware, realize, and analyze many things I didn't before, or didn't care to.

I have begun to take time to critically understand, examine and know why things are. What is true Truth? The short answer, for me, is Jesus Christ from the Bible.  But truth cannot break down to exactly one word, case in point: we love to the fullest extent, but there is a time where there is no choice but to pick up a weapon, defend yourself and go to war. You can be the friendliest person in the world, but you can't be friends with everybody in the whole world, it's just not humanely possible. You can go to college and learn for your whole life, but there will always be someone smarter than you in something. There is a source of Truth, but the way it breaks down into situations is something that I never truly sought to understand, as far as mechanics and engineering goes.

I've been asking questions, but not simply why, more like observing them, running over them with my eyes and ears, taking it all in. There are times in my life where I know it is a season to take action, to wave a flag and shout through a loudspeaker. There are times where I go underground to find a secret. There are times when I'm broken and all I can do is exist as my emotions deplete themselves. And, there are times where I use my five senses passively, to observe, understand, and absorb. These times are preparatory for something big that is coming, I know this.

Yet besides the constant and future changes in my life currently happening (gonna be a dad, moving to a completely different state, a solid job with a solid salary), I know there's something else coming. Me and God, we've got this relationship, and as I learn how to hear the rhythm of His heartbeat, I understand more of how and when things are going to happen. It's a very weird thing, and I don't pretend to understand, no I'm not psychic. I knew that I would be thrown to one side of the bus, thrown to the ceiling and then holding onto the bumper for dear life this year, but I feel like there's one more big thing that's yet to come, and then things will generally settle for awhile (how long is awhile? I don't know).

Basically, I'm going to keep my mouth closed for awhile, and just listen.

Chapter 12

DUDE. I'M GOING TO BE A DAD.

SERIOUSLY.

Found about two months ago that me & Jessica are gonna be parents, round the end of January 2011. Don't know if it's a boy or girl yet. But....DUDE. SERIOUSLY. I'M GONNA HAVE A KID.

...all my life I've wanted to be a dad. And now, at the age of 22, I will be a dad.
I DON'T EVEN KNOW

11 Things High Schoolers Don't Learn (by Bill Gates)

Love him or hate him, he sure hits the nail on the head with this!

Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about 11 things they did not and will not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world.

Rule 1: Life is not fair - get used to it!

Rule 2: The world doesn't care about your
self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.

Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.

Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity.

Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.

Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.

Rule 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

If you agree, pass it on.
If you can read this -Thank a teacher!
If you can read this in English thank a soldier!!!

Web 2.5

This specific blog is intended for all tech geeks/nerds, and anybody who is willing to join in this conversation/thought:

Seeing how Facebook has now "opened the gates" for other websites & companies to get information from users by default, would you classify this as a complete invasion of privacy or the next step of evolution for the Web?

People are saying all over how evil Facebook is for attempting to gain as much information as possible, as sneakily as possible from its users. They say Facebook is deceiving its users by going behind the scenes and stealing information that they shouldn't be able to. There's some legislation in Washington currently trying to stop Facebook and any other online company that would try this kind of thing.

There's also people saying that this is the next step for the Web, that this is the next evolution, the next big innovation, that social networking is maturing from just a hobby to something of a requirement of web users. They say that Facebook is going in the right direction.

What exactly do you think?

I will not compromise my values

There are a certain group of people on Facebook, that are constantly sending me messages that pretty much say the same thing. These people also have a addiction that they share, but I do not. So, I want to put this out there, plain, clear and simple...

FARMVILLE WILL NEVER HAVE MY SOUL.
So kindly stop sending me invites :)

Obituary printed in the London Times

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:

- Knowing when to come in out of the rain;
- Why the early bird gets the worm;
- Life isn't always fair; and maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot... She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement. Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, by his wife, Discretion, by his daughter, Responsibility, and by his son, Reason.

He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers:
I Know My Rights, I Want It Now, Someone Else Is To Blame, and I'm A Victim.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

Why I don't go to music concerts

I bet my January 2010 was more eventful than yours.

On January 2nd I was married to my best friend Jessica White Niebolt, we're waiting till the end of March to do our honeymoon so we came home back to Roseville the next day. That week was fun, I began to realize and see what God is doing in my church and the music ministry there. January 11th came and Jessica developed a serious pain in her lower right side that no one can figure out still, and since then we've been on shaky ground. We just got out of the hospital right now because of some problems that are connected to this unknown that's going on with her.

Traditionally, once a married couple is married, the first couple months are supposed to be spent in near bliss, spending time with each other and learning to live with each other and enjoying this new bond that they have. Apparently God loves us so much that He's decided to put that time on hold for us, as we wait on Him and deal with this situation and wait for the remedy. Please don't mistake my dialouge as sarcastic, I'm just tired and frustrated at not knowing the answers right now. Please keep praying that God delivers a miracle and that Jessica is not in pain anymore.

Flyleaf's new Cd Memento Mori has been getting me through these past weeks. I thought their first CD was good, but this CD is universes apart. It's so good, I cry. Seriously. It's that beautiful. Which I've discovered is why I don't go to concerts; the sheer raw power and beauty of the music makes me cry. Or the music is so bad it makes me cry. Usually it's the former.

God's been blessing the music ministry at the church I'm at right now. He's been blessing us as a church, there's lots of things that He's revealed the plan on. Makin me dig deep and search the Word. Makin me dig deep and carve out beautiful songs, both mine and others. I love music.

Hope your 2010 is goin well...mine's filled with mixed blessings and patience so far. Keep praying for Jessica, thanks.

The final days of 2009...and of my bachelor status

Sometime between 2pm and 3pm on January 2nd 2010, I will be married to my best friend Jessica. Before that time, I continue to wait.

I've been in Idaho since the 23rd, and this is the first time ever that my car has actually crossed the California border, believe it or not. I've put 85,000+ miles on that car just in California. It's also the first time my car has ever experienced snow.

No I'm not nervous, no I'm not getting cold feet. I'm just really really really really really ready for this. I WANNA BE MARRIED ALREADY.

Sayin goodbye to this decade, startin the next one off by gettin married to an amazing, beautiful woman that I'm gonna spend the rest of my life with. My excitement for the rest of my life to start, can only be compared to how impatient I am for it to come.

This is Jesse Niebolt, signing off...last blog of 2009, and the last time I will blog as a bachelor...be blessed.

Jesse will have limited internet starting in 48 hours

So, a rundown of my schedule of life right now:

Dec 23: Drive up to Boise ID
Dec 25: Christmas!
Dec 31: 2010!
January 2nd: GETTIN MARRIED SUCKA
January 4th: Back in Roseville

When I get back to Roseville, I will have a beautiful wife that I will be living with, in our own apartment, which is lovely and awesome. However, at this point in time we don't have enough money to hook up an internet connection to our apartment, soooo all you people that I frequently talk to online, I will not be on here as much.

I will not be completely without a connection; I will have access at my church and at coffee shops, but not a reliable connection. This is probably for the best, since for the last 3+ years I've had an addiction to the internet, that's involved hundreds of thousands of hours spent on random news stories, pointless social networking, scouring Google Images for random pictures, and other beautiful time wasters.

If you need to get ahold of me, call or text my cell, or call my work number 916.359.9513. I do have to say that my cell as of this moment is horribly unreliable, as it tends to randomly shut off 5 times a day. I really need to get a new phone....anyway, that's the update for now.

Be blessed.
