Seeing how Facebook has now "opened the gates" for other websites & companies to get information from users by default, would you classify this as a complete invasion of privacy or the next step of evolution for the Web?
People are saying all over how evil Facebook is for attempting to gain as much information as possible, as sneakily as possible from its users. They say Facebook is deceiving its users by going behind the scenes and stealing information that they shouldn't be able to. There's some legislation in Washington currently trying to stop Facebook and any other online company that would try this kind of thing.
There's also people saying that this is the next step for the Web, that this is the next evolution, the next big innovation, that social networking is maturing from just a hobby to something of a requirement of web users. They say that Facebook is going in the right direction.
What exactly do you think?
