Were The Last 4 Months Boring For You?

4 months changes everything. If 4 months of your life does not shake the foundation of your life and it's just been the usual, there is something criminally wrong with your choices. You cannot live life without a significant change and choice happening in your life. Unless you have retired, then you have the excuse of reflecting on life and doing whatever the heck you want.

Having a boring four months means you miss out means you miss out on friendships, where you can make amazing memories that will last forever, no matter what happens in the future. It means that you miss out on an amazing girlfriend that you love more than anyone else and share your heart with her so that she can know your greatest strengths and your most humiliating painful weaknessess. It means missing out on meeting the weirdest people on earth and realizing why God put them in your life.

Having a boring four months means you weren't a leader in the youth group. It means that you weren't the leader of a worship band, where God taught you how to lead others and yourself in worshipping Him. It means that the band didn't clap simultaneously after we finished praying, and it means that you didn't all wear Converse shoes when you played together. A boring four months also doesn't mean that you didn't have amazing worship experiences with the band in rehearsal alone, and that you're so thankful God gave you that gift for the time that you had it.

Having a boring four months means you didn't stop caring about college and blow it off because you're a stubborn arrogant brat. Having a boring four months means that you had a logical reason for quitting your job that you liked and taking a break from the youth group that you loved so that you could get your head straight and figure out where you're directing your life.

Having a boring four months means that you didn't wrestle with your personal faith, that you didn't go have serious doubts about a lot of things that you believe, and that you didn't make a lot of choices that you knew the Big Guy wouldn't like. And if you didn't have a boring four months, you would also not be stronger in your faith and even more ready for the trials to come because of your past choices.

If the past four months were boring for me, I would not be in the position I'm in.

And Lord knows I'm glad I went through everything.
